‘Squats’

As I touched on in my article about Back To Basics, squats should be one staple in your workout routine on leg day, HANDS DOWN. If you are not doing them you are absolutely CRAZY. Take my advice and add them to your routine NOW. If you are at all like us, and are looking for some easy ways to build muscle, this is a great way to start.

Squats have many benefits. However the one that sticks out the most in my eyes is the fact that doing them helps release anabolic growth hormones and testosterone into your body in extremely large amounts.

So what does this mean?

Well simply put, just by doing these you will also start to gain more muscle in your upper body too. Yes that’s right, more muscle in your upper body! You see, since the quadriceps, hamstrings and glutes are the largest muscles in your body they will naturally release the most natural growth hormones and testosterone while performing this exercise. While every exercise you do will release these hormones, doing legs will simply release much much more of it.

So what else?

The squat, if you don’t now this is a compound movement/exercise. In simple terms this exercise will workout almost every other muscle group in your body. It will easily help you tighten areas like your stomach and back as well as your legs and also have some effect on your shoulders and arms. It’s an absolute versatile exercise. While it tones it will also help improve your balance and performance in sports. By having a strong set of legs you will increase your strength, speed and quickness which will benefit you in all types of sports.

Is it worth it?

Who’s not striving to build a bigger chest, larger arms or wider shoulders? I know I am, and if you are reading this odds are you want to as well. Besides promoting quicker muscle growth, the squat will build you a large pair of wheels that you can be proud of. It won’t come over night but given time they will. Ask yourself  ”Do I want to be that guy in the gym with chicken legs?” or “The guy who’s always working out arms.” I sure as hell don’t, so why should you? Anyone can build any one muscle group with hard work, but with hard work and a little knowledge (which TheGetBiggerGuys.Com will continually provide) you can build each and every muscle group to there absolute maximum potential. How does that sound? So what are you waiting for?

Just do them already!
